Goals: To create awareness in the community about
- the dangers of HIV/AIDS
- the possibility of living with carriers of the virus
- how the virus can and cannot be contacted
- available medical care/facilities

SLP DRUGS and ABUSE
Goals: To create awareness in the community about
- The dangers of drugs and abuse
- The availability of rehabilitation methods/centres
- The effects of drug abuse on the society

- Religious Bodies
- PTAs
Student Products:
- Pamphlets/Newsletters showing information on the above-listed goals

SLP Healthy Environment/ Healthy Citizens
Goals: To create awareness in the community about
- the dangers of random refuse dumping in the society – environmental hazards, health hazards
- the need for personal and community hygiene
- the possibility of controlled refuse disposal methods/ sites
- available medical care/facilities

- The general public
- NGOs/Community leaders
- Multinational organizations

SLP Education for All
Goals: To create awareness in the community about
- The need for and the benefits of educating children – girls and boys
- The need for more schools/teachers
- The advantages of skilled over unskilled labour
- The need for both formal and informal education

SLP SAVE OUR DAUGHTERS
Goals: To create awareness in the community about
- The dangers of female genital mutilation
- The effects of female genital mutilation
- Myths/traditional beliefs that need to be refuted
- The availability of professional counseling for parents

- National/Private Woman Organizations

SLP SCHOOL LIBRARY/SCIENCE & COMPUTER LABS
These projects cannot at this time be converted into complete SLPs in the available time frame. In order to make these SLPs we would have to open up our school facilities to the public. Your school management may not be willing or able to do that at this point.
